In a new development in Nyala, youth and popular groups held a protest today in front of Al-Jawda Hospital to denounce the violent airstrikes targeting innocent civilians. This demonstration reflects the growing public anger against the Sudanese army, led by Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, who is accused of committing severe violations against unarmed citizens.
Protesters carried banners and slogans condemning the airstrikes and demanding an immediate end to targeting civilians. Among the most notable slogans were:
No to airstrikes, yes to protecting the people
The army is for the people, not against them
Nyala says: Our blood is not cheap
Participants agreed that these crimes are merely a continuation of the oppressive policies adopted by Burhan and his regime to impose dominance over the people by force.
The airstrikes on Nyala did not only target conflict zones but also extended to neighborhoods housing displaced people and civilians uninvolved in the conflict. These ongoing massacres have resulted in hundreds of casualties, including women and children, sparking increased public outrage against the army.
The youth spearheaded this protest movement, declaring that they will not remain silent in the face of these atrocities. One protester expressed their stance, saying:
“We are here to tell the world that the Sudanese people will not remain silent in the face of injustice, and we will continue the revolution until this oppressive regime is overthrown.”
What caught attention was the media coverage by Al-Hadath channel, which highlighted the protest and broadcasted the demonstrators' messages to the world. This coverage added momentum to the movement and confirmed that the voice of the Sudanese people is beginning to resonate internationally.
The protests in Nyala are just another chapter in the Sudanese people's battle against military rule. The message is clear: there is no place for dictatorship and oppression in Sudan's future. As the people continue their struggle, hope remains alive for building a state based on freedom, justice, and democracy.
The Sudanese street continues to prove, day by day, that its voice cannot be silenced and that the blood of martyrs will not be in vain. The revolution persists, and the people are the true leaders of the scene.
